Power through Prayer
I just finished a little book by E.M. Bounds entitled, “Power through Prayer”, and I thought I would just share with everyone a few of the statements that jumped out at me during my time reading it.
“Talking to men for god is a great thing, but talking to God for men is greater still.”
“The men who have most fully illustrated Christ in their character, and have most powerfully affected the world for Him, have been men who spent so much time with God as to make it a notable feature of their lives.”
“No man can do a great and enduring work for God who is not a man of prayer, and no man can be a man of prayer who does not give much time to praying.”
“The men who have done the most for God in this world have been early on their knees”
“To be little with God is to be little for God”
“To pray is the greatest thing we can do: and to do it well there must be calmness, time, and deliberation; otherwise it is degraded into the littlest and meanest of things.”
It was an easy read, but I don’t know that I would recommend this book for everyone, because a lot of the book’s content was specifically aimed at pastors. Nonetheless, it was a great read and I hope you take some time to chew a few of the above quotations.

I love quotes! so as you can imagine i have liked reading the past couple of blogs you have written with quotes in there….AMEN to the parrot quote! i am finding these blogs to be really motivating. I mean that by being able to read what a staff member of the church is thinking. Like the one about your goals….i would have never thought about some of those things. Honestly….a reader?! just kidding. i am really enjoying these blogs…keep up the good work~

I’m glad you enjoyed the quotes. There’s nothing I enjoy more than finding a good quote and writing it up on my white board.
