Welcome to the Southside blog.  If you have no idea what a blog is, it is an online journal that is open for the whole world to see and follow along with.  That’s probably not a great definition, but neither one of us is claiming to be related to the Websters either.    Anyway, in case you’re wondering, here’s why we’re starting a blog:

• We want people to be more informed about what’s happening behind the scenes in the life of our church. 

• We view blogging as an easy and effective way to engage people who aren’t a part of our church, and in some cases, will never step into our church.

• We see blogging as an opportunity to share the story of our church, as well as the story our Savior in an entirely new and different way.

• We love thinking about and talking about the church and we want to invite other people into the conversations we have every day.

• We believe that blogs are cool and we figure that if we blog then we might actually become cooler. 

• We think our blog has the potential to encourage and help people.

I’m sure there are a few more good reasons, but for now, that will do!  We really do hope that you enjoy the Southside Blog.  Just so you know, we will blog all during the week, but on the weekends, we will be watching football and worshiping Jesus.  Thanks for coming by and we hope to see you soon.
